Good times, and a wedding in Toronto

For the first time in the very short history of blog9, I am writing a personal post. A small departure from talking about macs, css, and Textpattern. A new strategy? Not really. Actually, this post is the direct result of me procrastinating about the speech I should be writing for my upcoming wedding this coming staturday.
I’ve got the speech all planned out in my head, I swear, it’s just a matter of sitting down to actually write it. So once this post is done that’s exactly what I plan on doing. I hope.
So here I am blogging from my parent’s house in the suburbs of my former hometown – Toronto, Onterrible Ontario. Man is this part of the world lame. Nothing but highways, SUVs and rows and rows of houses that all look the same. But the people are great.
Anyways, just thought I would take this opportunity to let my readers know that there will probably be a bit of quietness around here for a few weeks – not that it will even be noticeable given my infrequency of posts. But at least I have a humble excuse for the next little while. Note to self: blog about blogging not being an obligation.
What a week it’s been. Flew in from Vancouver on Friday evening, and have been running around doing last minute wedding planning things, like buying a marriage license (remind me again why it is I have to pay the government for permission to get married?) and seeing family, friends, and my best friend’s beautiful new baby. Good times.
Finally, my condolances go out to those affected by Hurricane Wilma. The worst part about it for me, is the fact that my honeymoon destination is now a hurricane zone. I would have to say that we got lucky though, and were not actually there a week ago. Apart from that, may the good times keep on rolling.
“Onterrible” Good one!
So now I shall forever call it: “Torontohole, Onterrible”
or alternatively, “Trauma, Onterrible”.
Certainly looking grey and grim the last week or so…good luck with your nuptials.
