Adding support for the link_text tag in Textpattern

I’m currently working on a client site that’s running Textpattern. While working on their proverbial “links” page, for probably the first time, I needed to display the actual URL that each link points to.

So, I grabbed the <txp:link_text /> tag and put it into the Links form. Surprisingly, this resulted in an error due to the simple fact that Textpattern presently lacks support for the <txp:link_text /> tag.

Ater some brief Googling, I found a solution here, however, it was in German. So here’s an English translation…

Calling All Canucks: A Web Conference in Canada?

Someone finally spoke up, and prompted others to do the same – hold a web conference in Canada. Something along the lines of SXSW would be nice, but even something smaller would be cool too.

If you’re a Canadian web designer or developer with an interest in web standards, head on over here and voice your opinion.

Perhaps the only thing that could stop this thing happening is the fact that so many of us are too busy taking care of business. But I reckon, if we can make the time, a small collective can form that could make this happen.

Screenspired and CSS Liquified

In the last two days, my referrer logs have made it very obvious that blog9 has been Screenspired and CSS Liquified. So, no sense in being rude and not saying hello to the many new visitors dropping in.
